Let’s talk about one of my favorite kinds of trips. There aren’t many more exotic vacations than the iconic African Safari. Experiencing the amazing wildlife on the savanna is primordial, otherworldly, unforgettable. I’d call it the trip of a lifetime, but in my experience, it can become addictive. Africa is more than three times larger than the United States, and there are excellent options for safaris all over the continent, with many “newer players” on the scene. With relatively new national parks and strengthened infrastructure, countries such as Zambia, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Rwanda join better known destinations such as Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Botswana. I will work with you to find the right destination and the right safari company to fit your needs, priorities and budget. Timing will also dictate the best options, as the climate and seasonal migrations will make a big difference in what animals you’re likely to see in a given destination. I’ve been lucky to have traveled to more than a dozen African countries and have excellent in-country contacts.
